Patient Quotes:

“Dr. Riew was the 10th doctor we had seen to diagnose our sons neck injury and was the first doctor who looked at all of the MRI, X-rays and CT scans we've had over the past 2 years and see the actual problems in the images. Every other doctor found nothing which was remarkable. He was not rushed and spent as much time as we needed.”

Aaron, patient review on Google

“Dr. Riew is incredibly nice and one of the best in his field. He explained everything he saw in both the X-ray's and MRI and went over treatment options and what to expect from surgery. He is highly recommended.”

“Dr. Riew performed surgery on my neck approximately 15 years ago. What an amazing doctor. So much so, I'm tempted to go to New York for a procedure that I will be needing. Wish he was still here in Mo. Very educated, excellent bed side manor. He makes you feel very safe and we'll taken care of. Thank you so much.”

“In early 2017, I faced a dilemma. My daughter, who sustained a neck injury as a teen, needed help again with her spine. I knew she already had two surgeries in Hawaii. I fretted about how to best help her. In a leap of faith, I checked a couple BEST SURGEONS IN THE US lists and found 3 cervical surgeons who were on BOTH lists. Dan Riew was one of them. Dr. Riew is absolutely an expert surgeon and his team is superb as well. My daughter had the best help possible on the planet. Thanks!”

Vickie, patient from Healthgrades

“Dr. Riew only does cervical surgeries. If you were told you might need a cervical spine surgery please see Dr. Riew. He is the only doctor you will need to see. I found out about Dr. Riew when it was too late for me. The remedy now required for me will be quite, quite extensive. He is a doctor you can trust. This is coming from a person who lost complete trust in doctors until I met Dr. Riew. I only wish I knew of him sooner for me.”

“Thank you so much for your skillful surgery on my cervical spine. I feel as though you have made a tremendous improvement in the quality of my life. With Cervical stenosis it is as though you have lost control of your own body. Movements and actions that your previously performed without any thought become replaced by struggles and frustrations. Now with your help, I am gradually regaining strength and abilities.”

“I will make this simple, after seeing other physicians I can state emphatically if you have a neck you seriously think needs surgical correction do NOT see anyone else BUT Dr. Riew! Get the best: he understands the neck better than anyone else and is a skilled surgeon. I have been all over the country seeking answers and he had them when others didn’t and now after a decade I am pain free and recovering spectacularly from a recent major surgery.”

C.C., patient

“Thank you for providing a stellar patient experience.”

Michael S., patient from Healthgrades

“My initial meeting with Dr. Riew was immensely informative and helpful in my consideration of committing to cervical spinal surgery. Dr. Riew thoroughly reviewed both the medical evidence supporting the need for surgery as well as the full range of options and trade-offs between alternative procedures. He easily established a positive rapport and we had a candid dialog regarding pre and post operative experiences and outcomes. Dr. Riew’s impressive credentials were clearly evident.”

Lauren, patient from Healthgrades

“Everyone associated with Dr. Riew during our visit was exceptional. From the receptionist who greeted us with a handshake and a smile to the nurses who met with us after our consultation with Dr. Riew to ensure we were clear on the proposed plan, the experience was top notch. Dr. Riew was the highlight of the experience. He spent a lot of time, and we never felt rushed. I hope to avoid surgery, but if it is required I know I am in the best hands with Dr. Riew and his exceptional team.”

Laura, patient from Healthgrades

“I came to Dr. Riew for a second opinion, and I’m very glad I did. He was extremely knowledgeable and caught something on my MRI that others had missed. He was very thorough, as was his assistant. He explained all of my options plainly and discussed every possible complication even though he felt they were unlikely. I left feeling greatly relieved and optimistic at my prognosis. I would highly recommend Dr. Riew to anyone.”

“My 1st encounter with Dr. Riew’s team was Shirley R. She was the sweetest most helpful soul soothing go out of their way person I ever met in medical field. Next was Samara & Jasmine, which engaged me with pleasant conversation & took vitals, info., etc. Coordinator Jenny L. was a great educational pleasure to speak with during a question & answer session concerning my surgery. Then to find out how lucky I am to have Dr. Riew—a true medical STAR—performing my surgery. I’m truly at ease!”

“Dr. Riew is extremely knowledgeable and, equally important, able to discuss very complex issues well with his patients. He is not rushed and does take his time explaining all the options of treatment. His office staff were very friendly and accommodating…well worth the trip.”

Betsy, patient from Healthgrades

Iany, patient from Healthgrades

“My visit to Dr. Riew’s office was life changing. After spending two years in pain following ACDF surgery for a herniated disc in C6-C7, I didn’t expect a quick diagnosis of failed fusion and renewed hope that surgery could fix me. I had a number of complicating factors as well as pain issues throughout my neck and back that ranged from low to moderately high at times. Dr. Riew took on my case and after revision ACDF surgery, I was free of pain (with some flareups) in 6 weeks. Dr. Riew = HOPE.”

Marc J., patient review on Google

“I had artificial disc replacement surgery with Dr. Riew at the end of July 2020 to relieve pain from a herniated C5-C6 disc. I am an otherwise healthy 53 year old runner who is in good shape. I had originally set a date for surgery with a very well known spine surgeon at HSS, but as the process went on I felt like a cog in a giant conveyor belt. I am so happy that I went with my gut and switched to Dr. Riew because my surgery was a total success. I was the first surgery of the day and was discharged by 2 pm. I walked 30 minutes with my wife the evening following the surgery. Three days later, I was on the stationary bike. One week later, I was back running. It is now twelve weeks after surgery and I feel terrific. While I was incredibly nervous about the surgery, in retrospect, it was the right decision and I am now pain free and back to myself. If you are looking for a cervical spine surgeon, I highly recommend Dr. Riew.”
